Jen Lambley, director of marketing and communications for Southeast Technical College, briefed the board on this year’s enrollment campaign, creative assets and ongoing website improvements.
Lambley said the campaign centers on student voice and hands‑on learning and uses a mix of broadcast TV, digital display, social advertising, native content, paid search and billboards. She described plans to amplify student‑generated content (for example, short “day in the life” videos) and to showcase lab and facility footage captured over the summer.
She described MERIT, a student recognition platform the college uses to push individualized news items to students’ hometown media and local legislators, and noted the site‑health insights report that shows the college website scoring about 98 overall with areas for minor spelling and link repairs. Lambley also described program‑level page refreshes, additional student testimonials and improved navigation elements designed to make program outcomes and costs easier to find.
Board members asked about the department’s capacity to handle printing and commercial work, platform performance (Instagram, TikTok for paid advertising, LinkedIn for employer outreach) and outreach to small‑town newspapers; Lambley said the department handles most internal print and communications tasks and described ZIP‑coded distribution to local hometown papers.
The board moved to acknowledge the marketing update; the motion carried by voice vote.
