Central Falls — The School Building Committee voted to approve the district’s submission of nine applications to the FY '26 Facilities Equity Initiative (FEI) grant round, a slate of prioritized projects that the district identified for funding consideration.
Erica told the committee the total request to RIDE was “just over $4,900,000” and that the applications were submitted on Nov. 3. She said many items were carried as ad alternates — such as outdoor classroom furniture at the high school and dual-language scope items — so they could be added if funding were awarded.
A committee motion to approve the submissions was moved and seconded and recorded as approved by voice vote; no roll-call tally was given.
The committee also approved the School Building Committee’s 2026 meeting calendar (the first Wednesday of each month) for Secretary of State filing after the calendar was presented.
On finances, Erica presented a reimbursement request / bond requisition numbered 27 for $3,046,544.39 — a payment package that the committee voted to approve. The vote was moved and seconded and recorded as approved.
During the meeting Matt presented the project-to-date labor utilization numbers: apprentice utilization at 20.94 percent, total minority work hours at 27 percent and female work hours at 2 percent. There was no additional action tied to the workforce figures at the meeting.
Motions to approve the FEI submissions, the SBC annual meeting schedule and the invoice payment were each moved and seconded and recorded as approved by voice vote; the transcript shows no recorded dissents.
