The Livingston Parish Council on Nov. 6 adopted a resolution naming an unnamed road ‘‘Safe Haven Road’’ for 911 purposes in Council District 1.

Councilman Lonnie Watts explained the request, describing a 150-acre tract divided into lots and a new 60-foot-wide surfaced road that the owner sought to name for emergency addressing. Council members moved the resolution, asked staff for basic length details and approved the name by voice vote.

At council inquiry, staff said the road is about 2,000 feet long and that a bridge associated with the road is approximately 2,250 feet long; the council recorded the vote as unanimous with one absent. The resolution applies for 911 addressing only and does not change road ownership or maintenance responsibilities.
