Bluff council approves $1,950 design addition for Cooperative Cultural Center HVAC

Malia Collins, a town staff member, said the fee had been negotiated down from higher estimates: "I reached back out to Michelle of Uncommon Architects, and I said, what? And she said, actually, I brought this down from $10,000 from the, Resolute Engineering Group. ... she actually got it down to 1,950," Collins said during the meeting.
Staff and council members said paying for the design change now would likely be far cheaper than addressing a missing HVAC system with a construction change order later. The $1,950 adjustment was described as a modest addition to the overall project budget for a contract described in the meeting as roughly $176,000 in total value.
Motion language recorded in the public meeting was: "Motion to approve Uncommon Architects invoice and bid of $1,950 for design additions at the Cooperative Cultural Center." The motion passed by voice vote; meeting minutes record the outcome as unanimous (5–0).
