Administration committee previews donor acceptance and CAD MOU resolutions

The administration committee reported a set of resolutions that will appear on the board agenda next week.

One resolution would authorize the county to accept donations from Friends of Berrien County Animal Services without referring each donation to the committee; staff will report donations quarterly. Another resolution (No. 361) would establish responsibilities and include a memorandum of understanding to implement a shared computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system for police and fire; local township and city boards would need to sign the MOU before participation. The committee also approved a property-use request for the courthouse to host the Saint Joe Turkey Trot on Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Committee members described the CAD resolution as putting earlier-support language into action by defining responsibilities and including the MOU terms. The administration chair said quarterly reporting by Ashley (staff) will cover donations from Friends of Animal Control.
