Coos County authorized two actions to manage and preserve county telecommunications services. First, the board approved entering an agreement with SpyGlass Group LLC for an audit of telecommunications invoices to identify unused services or billing errors; SpyGlass will share savings found in the first year and the county retains ongoing savings thereafter if identified.
Second, commissioners approved a 12‑month agreement with Intermedia Cloud Communications — billed monthly and not to exceed $55,909.32 — to ensure continuity of phone service while staff completes a longer procurement. County staff said the reseller that previously provided services was no longer authorized to resell the parent company’s cloud telephony product; Intermedia offered a one‑year sole‑source agreement that preserves current features and costs and avoids service interruption.
Staff reported that earlier audits by comparable firms in the area yielded small savings because many telecom arrangements were recently modernized, but that a formal inventory from a third party would be useful. The board adopted sole‑source findings for the Intermedia contract and authorized Director Darius Boudelier to sign both agreements.
