After recessing for standing committee meetings, the West Allis Common Council reconvened Nov. 4 and adopted committee recommendations and consent-agenda items by unanimous recorded votes.
When the council returned from committee recess, the public works committee recommended adoption of items 19 and 20; the economic development committee recommended adoption of item 21 as amended and item 22; and the public safety committee recommended adoption of item 23. The clerk recorded 9 in favor, 0 opposed on the committee reports and related items.
On the economic development item, Mayor Dan Devine moved to amend permitted hours to allow New Year—s Eve operations to continue until 1:00 a.m. on New Year—s Day under the same conditions discussed in committee; the motion was seconded and approved on a 9-0 vote.
Other committee actions approved during the reconvened session included the adoption of item 22 (described in committee as an agreement to sell donated hydrocarbon interests) and the public safety committee—s item 23. The council also approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting by roll call vote (9-0) and moved to adjourn the evening—s session until its next scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025.
