Commissioners authorize replacement cruiser and transfer appropriations after wreck

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 6 approved actions to replace a sheriff's cruiser that was totaled in an accident and moved appropriations to fund the purchase.

McElroy, identified as finance director for the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, told the board the purchase would maintain fleet levels after a cruiser was totaled. He confirmed the deputy involved was OK. The board then approved a resolution of necessity to purchase or lease vehicles for the sheriff's office (Resolution 25-927) and a transfer of appropriations to fund the replacement (Resolution 25-928).

Commissioners voted aye on both measures and staff were directed to proceed with appropriation transfers and procurement under county purchasing rules.
