County treasurer previews Point & Pay online bill-pay integration; presentation set as information only

Point & Pay presented an integrated online payments solution to Lyon County commissioners on Nov. 6, demonstrating a bill-pay portal that would hand off tax and parcel data from the county27s tax assessment software (GSA) to a Point & Pay checkout and dashboard.
Point & Pay said the product supports one-time and scheduled payments, autopay, SMS text-to-pay prompts, Google/Apple Pay and eCheck validation that reduces return rates by connecting taxpayers to their bank accounts at checkout. Mark Ruiz, the company27s presenter, showed how constituents could build a dashboard, enroll in paperless statements and set up auto-payments tied to GSA-provided due dates. He said the product can present detailed statements and store multiple parcels in a single user account.
County Clerk-Treasurer Stacy Lindbergh, who oversees payments, told commissioners she supports integrating property tax and personal property payments to reduce lost mail and to serve residents in Dayton and Fernley who rely less on county offices. She said the county is negotiating convenience fees and that Point & Pay had proposed a one-time integration fee.
Staff and the treasurer indicated the presentation was informational; no procurement or contract approval occurred at the meeting. Treasurers and IT staff suggested a pilot or phased approach and confirmed existing payment channels for some utilities will remain in place until GSA integrations are tested.
Point & Pay representatives said additional payment types (utilities, business licenses) can be added and that marketing and outreach (QR codes, inserts) would accompany rollout. The treasurer said the service could reduce printing and postage costs by enabling paperless statement enrollment.
