At its Oct. 23 meeting the Worcester License Commission approved a slate of one‑day liquor permits, restaurant hours requests, and several filings to change officers, managers or ownership structures. Commissioners approved routine items after staff and police raised no objections or after applicants addressed minor conditions.
Approvals included one‑day permits for Our Lady of Mercy (fundraising events Nov. 8 and Dec. 31), Cameron Bridal (Nov. 1 alleyway event), and a later one‑day filing for Rafael Zapata (Oct. 31). The commission approved operating hours for Raising Cane’s at the Lincoln Street site, and approved Checkers (Carmen Vick Schiller / 99 Gold Star Boulevard) to operate in Worcester. The commission also approved a request from Cameron Bridal to use an alleyway with fencing and a security plan; Sergeant Needham confirmed no unresolved public‑safety issues.
The commission approved administrative changes of officers/directors and managers for multiple licensees, including Interstate Management Company LLC (change of manager for two nearby hotel properties), Jolo Inc. (Hurricane Betty’s – change of officers/directors and proposed manager pending state approval), Tatnik Post (officers/directors paperwork completed), and TM Restaurant (transfer of upper‑tier ownership interest and DBA change to Mercantile). In each case staff reported that background investigations or documentation raised no objection; several approvals were noted as contingent on subsequent state approvals where required.
The commission approved an on‑premises malt & wine license for Zebra Foods (333 Pleasant Street) after the applicant agreed to a more robust physical barrier between the marketplace and the on‑premises serving area. KLO Imperial Bistro (185 Shrewsbury St.) received an all‑alcohol restaurant license approval subject to securing a designated storage area for liquor for inspection by Sergeant Needham.
A small number of items were continued: Taste Experience Bistro (162 Harding St.) was continued to permit an inspection and follow‑up; the commission also continued the status hearing for Stella and Gonyo LLC d/b/a Bets to Nov. 20 to allow the licensee and staff to supply eviction or lease documentation.
Most routine approvals were taken by voice vote; where the commission approved an application despite minor staff conditions, those conditions were noted on the record (for example, securing storage or providing TIP/ServSafe documentation).
