Cheektowaga Community Symphony warns loss of town support would end 65-year run

Maguda said the symphony cannot sustain operations without that funding and warned that closure would lead to disposal of instruments and music archives stored at a town ice-rink facility. He estimated the orchestra's assets kept at the rink at about $90,000 and said the group fields roughly 70 musicians, some of whom live outside the town.
The board acknowledged the comment; no immediate action was taken to restore the line item at the hearing. The resolution adopting the preliminary budget was tabled to the next meeting for further review.
