Hilldale Cemetery Association seeks sponsors for Wreaths Across America event; volunteers and wreaths still needed

Tammy Dobrodelski and Kim Ocasio told the Haverhill City Council they are organizing Hilldale Cemetery’s eighth annual Wreaths Across America ceremony on Dec. 13 at noon.
The event, which organizers said remembers fallen veterans, honors currently serving military members and teaches about service, will include a wreath‑laying and the reading of veterans’ names. The association reported it plans to place 474 wreaths at Hilldale Cemetery; 269 had been sponsored and 205 remained available as of the Oct. 21 presentation. Organizers said wreath sponsorships cost $17 each and that purchases can be made via the program’s dedicated page.
Organizers asked for volunteers year‑round to support cemetery restoration and veteran‑grave recovery work and encouraged local organizations, JROTC units, scouts and veterans’ groups to participate.
