Chippewa County launches new public meetings portal; officials urge supervisors to subscribe for alerts

County staff demonstrated the new public agenda and meetings portal that centralizes agendas, minutes and packet downloads and allows board members and the public to subscribe for notifications.
"The easiest way for you to get access to the meetings and agendas is on this home page," the presenter said while walking through the portal. Staff showed how the calendar and a green "Meetings and Agendas" tab link to the public portal, how to download packet files using the browser download icon, and how to toggle subscriptions to receive email notifications when agendas are posted.
Presenters warned the portal looks different on iPads and mobile devices and that some features (such as the calendar view) may not appear identically on every device. Staff said some motions and votes may appear online before full minutes are published because votes are entered as they are recorded, and they urged users to confirm the complete packet before assuming minutes are finalized.
The county will require board members to sign in and subscribe to notifications for the committees they serve on so they receive agenda emails. Staff offered in-person assistance to supervisors who have trouble signing in.
