The Dane County Executive Committee approved a fund transfer to move remaining funds from a prior board office furniture and equipment account to pay for replacement of the chambers' microphone and audio system.

Lauren, a staff member, told the committee that the transfer would move "the remaining amount that was in the board office budget from the furniture or ... the equipment and space remodel, which was done 5 ish years ago." She added that "a few weeks ago, the microphones stopped working in the chambers" and "we've since learned that the whole system is likely going to have to be replaced." Lauren said staff is "working with purchasing and the controller's office to get some quotes, but this will provide some funds to be able to do that."

Supervisor Engelberger moved to approve the transfer and the motion carried on a voice vote. The chair confirmed the motion carried and the transfer was approved.

Committee members asked about the equipment's expected useful life. Lauren said the equipment had about a five-year life and that, by moving the funds now, the money will be available next year for the replacement project.

The committee did not provide a roll-call vote count in the record; approval was by voice vote. The committee noted logistical items before adjourning, including that the next meeting will be on the 20th with a later start time and an invitation to a separate ceremony that evening.
