The Clovis City Commission voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 3343-2025 authorizing abatement by demolition of a mobile home located at 209 Venus Avenue.
City Attorney (Mister Morris) told the commission the city’s building safety department, represented at the meeting by Building Safety Official Mister Wilt, had determined the mobile home is “ruined, damaged, or dilapidated and a threat to the public health, safety, and welfare.” The staff report and photographs in the commission packet showed a missing exterior wall and other severe deterioration, the attorney said.
Mayor Pro Tem Bridal made the motion to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Porter seconded. The vote was recorded as unanimous. The resolution directs staff to continue the statutory notification process and, if conditions are met, to proceed with abatement and demolition of the structure cited by building safety staff.
City staff identified the property owners in the commission packet as Linda Guerrero and Danielle Garza. The commission did not discuss alternatives to demolition during the motion; staff indicated they would follow the notification and administrative-appeal procedures required under city code before any demolition implementation.
The vote followed a presentation from city staff and an opportunity for questions. The commission recorded yes votes for each member and carried the motion unanimously.
The decision clears the way for the city to move forward with required abatement steps pending completion of notices and any appeal periods.
