Several members of the public spoke during the audience concerns portion of the meeting. Raymond Anthony of 521 Eaton Street asked for clarification on budget line items in Ordinance 188-25, specifically asking what the term "personal services" referred to in departmental breakdowns. "I think I know what personal services mean, but can someone tell me what exactly that pertains to?" Anthony asked.
Cooper Hudson Love proposed an informal town‑hall event to let residents meet council members and city officials and ask questions outside the formal council meeting. "I put this out on Facebook to see what people would think ... to have some kind of town hall event where citizens who want to participate could meet their councilmen, mayor, auditor, etc., and be able to take questions," Cooper Hudson Love said.
City staff and council members answered several operational and outreach questions raised later in the meeting. The administration said CityLogix completed 57 miles of sidewalk data collection; deliverables — including a sidewalk condition index, video of surveyed areas and mapped locations of distresses — are expected in about 70 days. The mayor and staff asked for patience while they review the deliverables and develop next steps for sidewalk repairs.
Council members also discussed the city’s comprehensive‑plan outreach. One council member asked that the online community survey be made more prominent on the city website and suggested adding a front‑page banner or link because posting the survey only on social media may not reach all residents. Administration responded that the outreach stage is the final step before transmitting results to the consultant and that staff will look into making the link more prominent.
On sanitation and recycling operations, administration reported hiring an additional sanitation employee and completing training; staff said full staffing should be achieved next week. Officials explained missed or combined pickups can happen when trucks are down; in those cases staff will post notices on the city website and the city Facebook page. The council also heard that the farm bid for the city farm near Merrimack Park was awarded to Murray Farms, and the new police department building construction is progressing on schedule.
Other community announcements included the Aldi grand opening, upcoming Veterans Day events and local school sports milestones. Council adjourned after round‑table remarks and announcements.
