Oneida Special School District board approves routine business, vendor bids and partnership with UTK

At its November meeting the Oneida Special School District board unanimously approved the agenda, consent items, three procurement items, a memorandum of understanding with the University of Tennessee–Knoxville and several personnel and budget items.
The Oneida Special School District Board of Education unanimously approved the meeting agenda and consent items and voted to approve several procurement items and a memorandum of understanding with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) during its Nov. 1 meeting.
Board members approved three bid notifications described by staff as pass-through warmers and coolers for the cafeteria, an equipment storage shed tied to an ISM grant, and a dishwashing machine for Oneida High School. The board then voted to approve a memorandum of understanding with UTK for an educator preparation provider partnership. The MOU was introduced by staff and approved by roll call.
The board also approved the LEA compliance report and the district’s accountability (TISA) report, each described in the meeting as standard items required for district compliance. The committee approved four leave-of-absence requests (Richard Bird, Michelle Nasingale, Lisa Gilbert and Hammond Barnes), accepted a resignation from Tracy Maxson and approved three fundraising requests for school athletics programs.
District leadership presented and the board approved budget amendments described in the meeting as general housekeeping.
All recorded roll-call votes in these items were unanimous ayes. No member cast a recorded no vote, abstention or recusal during these actions.
Board members who participated in roll calls and were recorded as voting "Aye" were: Dr. Nancy Williamson; Kevin Byrd; Dr. Danny Cross; Dorothy Watson; and Mark Matthews.
