Auburn council approves multiple equipment and vehicle purchases, stormwater design contract

The Auburn City Council on Nov. 4 approved a series of budgeted equipment and vehicle purchases and a contract for stormwater design, Mayor Ron Anders said.

Actions reported included the purchase of rifle replacements for the police department (described as budgeted), a contract with Barge Design Solutions for stormwater infrastructure repair and design, and equipment purchases for Parks and Recreation and Public Works: one Kubota tractor, one Bobcat excavator and one compact truck loader. The council also approved vehicle purchases for Environmental Services and fleet replacement, including a Chevrolet Colorado crew cab for an enforcement officer, an F‑150 for the fleet services group, four F‑150 pickup trucks for the police department and multiple replacement pursuit SUVs.

Council approved new rollout garbage carts and recycling carts intended for new residents or to replace damaged carts, and a contract with Walker Consultants for maintenance and repairs to the right street parking deck. Mayor Anders said many of the purchases were budgeted as part of the city’s two‑year budget process and are occurring early in the fiscal year.
