The Board of Selectmen authorized an independent third-party peer review of the McLean complex project (application CC-25-2575, 75 Great Pond Road) to review technical elements referenced by the inland wetlands and watercourse agency.
Staff presented a memorandum and a proposed engagement with a consulting firm (scope in Exhibit A/Task Order 1). Town staff and the developer agreed the review is appropriate and will be paid by the applicant, consistent with town code and practice. The review was described as standard practice for complex projects and intended to provide transparency and an additional expert opinion to aid town boards in their technical review.
Action: The board adopted the recommendation to engage the named consultant for a review not to exceed $15,700 and authorized the town manager to execute the contract. Staff said the conservation/inland wetlands commission and the developer both supported the selection and that the review is expected to be completed in 30 to 45 days.
