City Council on Oct. 16 approved an ordinance reducing the posted speed on Rolling Acres Trail (from Ammon Road to Silver Spur) to 30 miles per hour, city staff reported to TSAC on Nov. 5.
TSAC had recommended the change on May 7, citing inconsistent posted limits, narrow road, sight lines, sun‑glare issues, mailboxes, pedestrians and cyclists. Staff said cautionary curve‑ahead signs were installed in June; the ordinance was adopted Oct. 16 and speed‑limit signs are on order.
Why it matters: The reduction affects neighborhood speed limits and follows TSAC recommendations and staff traffic controls. Staff said required publications are completed and installations are pending arrival of ordered signs.
What remains: Staff will install posted signs once delivered; enforcement and community adaptation were mentioned by members attending the meeting.
