Staff said demand for transit remained high and that holidays and scheduled employee leave were increasing near-term staffing pressure. County staff confirmed the temporary positions are eligible for payment from existing Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) grants and estimated that if either temporary hire worked a full allotment of hours the total cost would not exceed about $15,000.
Commissioners indicated support for moving the request forward to the voting session so hiring could begin; staff requested action to avoid service disruption.
