The St. Cloud Area School District Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt the district2725 2025272028 strategic plan.
Donna Roper, director of research, assessment and AI integration, presented the final plan and described four guiding pillars: safety, collaboration, belonging and academic excellence. She said the final document includes a strategic commitment in objective 2.2.b around assessment. "This plan is going to guide us over the next several years, our decisions, our investments, and our priorities," Roper told the board.
Board members asked clarifying questions about objective wording and implementation. Assistant Superintendent Jason Harris explained grade-level standards: "If I take sixth grade, we want you to be exposed to the standards in sixth grade... By the end of sixth grade, what should I know and be able to do?" Harris said, adding that curricular resources must ensure exposure to grade-level standards.
Natalie Copeland moved to approve the 2025272028 strategic plan; Diana Fenton seconded. Heather Williams called the vote; all members present voted yes.
The plan will guide district priorities and investments for the next three years; board members asked for future reporting on implementation and clarification of specific objectives.
