Board to award $227,237 law enforcement center roof contract; $50,000 contingency set aside

Staff requested a $50,000 county-controlled contingency because coring and repairs could reveal additional moisture or damage under the existing membrane.
Hawk asked the board to accept the offer and award a contract using SPLOST 7 funds. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the scope, the square-foot pricing on walk pads, and the contingency; staff said the contingency was county-controlled and within SPLOST budget categories.
The board indicated support at the work session for moving the contract to the voting session for formal action; no roll-call vote was recorded in the work-session transcript.
