At the Sept. 22 work session, city staff updated the council on multiple infrastructure projects across Snellville.
Briscoe Park: Staff said construction progress is steady and that a large quantity of steel has been ordered and is in secure storage; once the site pad is in place, crews will erect the steel per contract requirements.
North-corridor sewer: Staff reported completion of a bore needed for sewer work north of Wisteria. Crews encountered rock and boulders but pushed through the obstruction; staff emphasized utility coordination, noting crews came within about two inches of a fiber line during the bore and are resolving other utility conflicts.
Fiber and conduit cutovers: Staff said AT&T installed conduit and placed fiber lines; cutovers will be scheduled property-by-property and may produce brief outages while service is moved to the new fiber. Comcast is on a similar schedule, and staff expects cutovers to be completed by the end of the month.
Pedestrian and decorative lights: Staff said pedestrian lights along the north corridor have been installed, with a few remaining, and that storefronts and window lines are improving the corridor's appearance. No formal actions or votes were taken on these updates during the session.
