The Murfreesboro City Council on Nov. 6 approved resolution 25-R-30, amending the City Schools fiscal year 2026 budget to record multiple new grants and revenue adjustments.
Director Duke told the council the resolution recognizes a $40,000 grant to expand pre-K opportunities, a $10,600 grant from the City Schools Foundation for robotics targeting gifted and ESL students, a $10,000 reallocation from a Conference USA grant for the music program, and $8,250 in donations to assist students experiencing homelessness. The resolution also recognizes an additional $36,000 in state funds, an increase in projected local option sales tax revenue of $248,000, and a transfer of $17,000 from the Board of Education category to a student support health category per state guidance.
Council voted by roll call to approve the resolution; the motion carried unanimously. Director Duke said staff would answer any additional questions related to the allocations and transfers.
