Clark Township approves ordinance 25-32 to clarify rules for sheds, pergolas, gazebos and pools

The Clark Township Council completed a master-plan consistency review and approved proposed Ordinance 25-32, which amends local zoning code provisions for residential accessory uses and swimming pools.

Mister Ritchie reported that he reviewed Ordinance 25-32 and concluded the proposed changes are minor and do not create inconsistencies with the municipal master plan. Ritchie said the changes concern the size and placement of sheds, the location and definitions for gazebos and pergolas, and provisions for swimming pools.

A council member said the package resolves inconsistencies that previously required residents to look in two separate code sections for rules, and that clarifying definitions will make it easier for residents to find and follow the rules. The council moved to approve the consistency review and ordinance; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.

Roll-call votes recorded Mayor Albanese, Mister Albrecht, Councilman Munitti, Mister Triola, Mister Steinberg, Mister Gronkowski, Mister Gerstner and Mister Cecil voting yes. The public comment period was opened and closed with no speakers.
