President Tamanek opened the meeting by introducing Resolution 808, described as “resolution adopting interim controls pending final decision regarding enactment of a moratorium on certain short term rental permits replacement.”
Councilor Howell asked about the item’s status, saying, “I’ve noticed that we’ve been tabling it. I was just wondering at what state is it now. You know, like, are we gonna be able to take a vote on this coming up, you know, this coming Monday, or is the plan to continue to table?”
Vice President Nephew replied that the constituent issues “has been resolved. So we are good. So this should be set to go.” The council later included Ordinance 28, described on the record as “an interim ordinance pursuant to Minnesota statute 462.355, subdivision 4, imposing a moratorium on certain short term rental permits and related city activities and approvals pending completion of a city study weighing the need for any amendment to official controls,” among the ordinances to be considered on Monday.
The record at this meeting includes introductions of the resolution and the ordinance and short questions about schedule and constituent concerns but no formal council vote on either item during this session.
