Trustees approve ordinance to expand and rename two advisory bodies
Summary
On second reading trustees amended the municipal code to increase membership on the Appearance Commission and expand and rename the Telecommunications Advisory Committee to the Technology Advancement and Transformation Commission.
The board on second reading approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 2, Article 7 of the Skokie code to increase membership on the Appearance Commission from seven to nine and to rename and expand the Telecommunications Advisory Committee to the Technology Advancement and Transformation Commission (increasing membership from 10 to 13). Corporation Counsel Barbara Mangler said the changes reflect the evolving scope of technology policy work and allow more community members to serve.
Trustees voted to adopt the ordinance on second reading after hearing the report and confirming the change in membership and name. The ordinance was adopted by roll call.
