The village recognized a set of local businesses for meeting green business practices as part of a statewide program in partnership with the EnergySense Resilience Center; village officials encouraged other firms to enroll.
The Village of Skokie and the EnergySense Resilience Center on Nov. 3 recognized local businesses that completed the Skokie Green Business recognition program. Anthony Santarelli of the EnergySense Resilience Center and assistant director Cassie Carroll presented awards and named businesses that included Collective Resource Compass Cooperative, Edward Jones Investments, Haven Funeral Home and Crematory, Needs and Wants, Panoramic Images, Sketchbook Brewery, Take Flight Spirits, Village Inn Pizza, Will's Place, and Zorica Luchik State Farm.
Santarelli said Skokie is the program’s first municipal partner and described the recognition as a way to encourage continuous improvement beyond practices already in place. Trustees and staff thanked the Sustainable Environmental Advisory Commission and local staff for their work and invited other businesses to participate next year.
