Board unanimously approves Amanda Burns as VSBA Central Region vice chair

The Charlottesville City Schools board unanimously authorized the submission of Amanda Burnss nomination for vice chair of the Virginia School Boards Association (Central Region) at its meeting on Nov. 6.
Miss Torres summarized the regional nomination process and said Burns had submitted an application to the VSBA nominating committee. "Part of the nomination packet is approval, by the majority of the board to submit," she said.
Miss Cooper moved to approve the nomination and Mister Meyer seconded the motion. The board then voted "aye," and the nomination passed unanimously. No board members opposed the motion.
The nomination package will be turned in by the divisions VSBA representatives and will be considered at the VSBA delegate assembly in Williamsburg in the coming weeks, where member divisions will vote on regional leadership positions.
