At the meeting the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote, 7–0. The board then convened into a closed session under Texas Government Code sections 551.071 and 551.074 to consider consultation with the board attorney and matters related to personnel, including appointment, evaluation and potential discipline.
After returning to open session the board approved a motion to ratify professional new hires and employee contracts as presented; the vote was recorded as 7–0. The board secretary had no additional report. Trustees also announced upcoming events including a Veterans Day program at GMS on Nov. 11, the next regular board meeting on Nov. 17, Thanksgiving break dates and the district Christmas parade on Dec. 5.
The meeting adjourned shortly after the ratification vote.
