Greenville ISD approved renewal of its unemployment insurance program with First Nonprofit, with a minimum annual premium of $88,300 for the 2025–26 school year. The board approved the purchase by a voice vote of 7–0.
Administration said the arrangement is a one‑year contract with up to four one‑year renewals, and that First Nonprofit administers a program used by more than 2,300 nonprofits and government entities nationally. The presenter noted the district's experience credit and recent rate history: the district's rate moved from about 0.26 in 2022 down to roughly 0.179 and back up to 0.195 this year; the district has an open unemployment-liability amount of about $50,004.78 that contributes to the premium calculation.
The presenter recommended approval for the 2025–26 school year. The motion to approve the purchase passed by voice vote, 7–0. The board was told this is the fourth one‑year renewal on the current contract; after this renewal the district must rebid the service.
