Greenville ISD trustees approved a recommendation to set the adult dinner price at $4.25 for the 2025–26 school year and to offer a subsidized $1 dinner option for staff.
At a presentation to the board, the child nutrition director said the district recently rolled out a dinner program and recommended aligning adult pricing with the district's established adult meal rate. "We would like to set the same price for the adult dinner... $4.25," the presenter said.
Board members asked whether participation would be limited and how meal service would rotate across campuses; the director said participation so far is small—"about a handful" of adults—but expected participation could grow. The board approved the motion to adopt the price change, moved and seconded on the record, and passed the item by voice vote, 7–0.
The vote adjusts the adult pricing and confirms the $1 staff dinner subsidy for the coming school year; no further budget appropriation was recorded on the motion.
The item was handled as a routine action item and does not require further administrative steps to implement other than updating point‑of‑sale pricing at participating sites.
