Monroe County approves $3.24 million claims docket, awards Maple Grove paving and stormwater contracts

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 6 approved the Oct. 30 minutes, an accounts‑payable claims docket totaling $3,238,936.71, and several infrastructure contracts. The board also opened bids for hardscape improvements at the Showers Building North parking lot and took the bids under advisement.

On a motion and second, commissioners approved the minutes for Oct. 30, 2025, and then approved the accounts payable claims docket for Nov. 6, 2025. Miss Moser reported the total for the claims docket as $3,238,936.71. Both motions carried by voice vote, recorded in the meeting as "motion carries 2 0."

Staff opened bids for hardscape improvements at Showers Building North (drainage, sidewalk repair/replacement and asphalt). Staff said Specialty Engineering Group prepared the construction documents and three bids were submitted by the deadline: Milestone Contractors (base bid $340,820 with deduct alternatives), EMB Paving (base bid $296,000) and Kreider & Kreider (base bid $467,250). County staff said they will review the proposals and return with a recommendation.

The board approved awarding Maple Grove Road paving (fund: Motor Vehicle Highway, fund number 1173) to T and B Paving for $114,356. Miss Ridge said the request came from quotes solicited from three contractors; two quotes were received and the award is intended to finish the county’s 2025 paving season and deplete remaining paving funds.

The board also approved a $21,000 on‑call agreement with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems LLC (Stormwater Professional Fees fund 1197) to televise pipes and inspect drainage infrastructure on Curry Pike as part of pre‑paving diagnostics. Miss Ridge said the televised inspections will identify needed repairs before paving work is scheduled; the board approved the agreement 2‑0.

Finally, the board approved an as‑needed traffic‑control and flagging agreement with Marshall Security LLC at $95.48 per hour (stormwater fund 1197). Miss Ridge said the hourly contract mirrors similar temporary flagging contracts used on other county projects and that the stormwater board approved the agreement at its meeting the day before.
