Cochise County sheriff: 110 AEDs and trauma boxes purchased with grant funds for first responders

"We got a 110 AEDs," Danels said on KWCD's First Watch, and described the trauma boxes as guided kits with screens that instruct responders what item to use and how to apply it at a scene.
Danels said the equipment will be distributed across county locations, used by EMTs and paramedics, placed on the sheriff's helicopter and regional SWAT vehicle, and made available in substations and schools. He emphasized the equipment is intended to increase survivability in crashes, cardiac events and other emergencies.
The sheriff said the purchases came from grants and awards rather than taxpayer general-fund dollars. No grant program name, award amount, vendor names or procurement details were provided on the broadcast.
