At its Nov. 6 meeting the Kernersville Board of Aldermen approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from prior meetings, a lease with the Kernersville Little Theatre and adoption of the 2026 meeting schedule. The board also approved nominations reported by the appointments committee: Russ Pormley to the planning board and Michael Woods as a regular member of the board of adjustment.
The board unanimously approved a proposal from staff to name the dog park at Ivory Redmond Sports Complex in memory of Alderman Joe Penix, recognizing his advocacy and frequent presence at the park. Town staff said Alderman Penix visited the dog park multiple times per week and was instrumental in its creation.
All consent‑agenda items and appointments were adopted by a single motion and carried without recorded opposition.
