Dan Armstrong, representing the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, asked commissioners to endorse a proposal to place historical signage at a village site in Spanish Fort as part of the America250 Alabama commemoration. Armstrong said signage is currently lacking for that site and asked for the county’s support and for a letter to be sent to the America250 Alabama commission.
Commission staff said they would involve the highway engineer to coordinate next steps and that the commission could provide a support letter if needed. No formal vote was recorded; the commission agreed to help coordinate with state highway officials and the America250 program.
