Elections staff reported turnout and procedural timing for the recent general election. "We have 13,854 registered voters. As of yesterday, we had 2,481 ballots cast and total turnout of 17.91%," the elections official said, and pointed the public to the county website for full results.
Staff said the board must canvas results on or before a statutory deadline and scheduled that canvas meeting for next Thursday at 8 a.m. to review provisional ballots and finalize the results. The elections office noted website navigation issues for some users and is working with the web vendor to fix a link that incorrectly directs users to a login page; the elections results are accessible via a link further down the page.
The county reminded the public that canvass meetings are open to observers but not for public question-and-answer or discussion; staff said observers may watch the process and that in close races there is often more public interest.
