The commission approved a renewal and expansion of a water‑delivery facility in Valley at its Oct. 29 public hearing. Staff presented CUP 25‑52, a renewal of CUP‑07061, to authorize a second 500,000‑gallon tank, two standpipes (potable and non‑potable), underground distribution piping and commercial water sales and delivery.
Staff noted the well on the site was established in 1994 to serve commercial customers and water hauling operations and that the renewed CUP would add additional distribution capacity needed as the Valley area grows. “The project would also provide an additional water supply, to serve the Valley area that is currently expanding with new commercial and residential development,” staff said.
The proposal includes two water standpipes (one for potable use and one for nonpotable use), two stock ponds, and storage/maintenance facilities; staff recommended approval with standard conditions. No neighborhood comments were received following a Sept. 2 neighborhood meeting.
Commissioners moved to approve the CUP as presented; the motion passed unanimously.
What’s next: staff will finalize permit conditions and record any required approvals. The renewed CUP allows continued commercial water hauling and an additional tank and infrastructure to support local demand.
