Board unanimously approves Amanda Burns as VSBA Central Region vice chair

Charlottesville City Schools' board approved the nomination of board member Amanda Burns as vice chair for the Virginia School Boards Association Central Region during the Nov. 6 meeting.
Miss Torres presented the nomination packet and said Burns submitted an application to the VSBA nominating committee for the Central Region. "Part of the nomination packet is approval by the majority of the board to submit," Torres said.
Miss Cooper moved to approve the nomination, and Mister Meyer seconded. The board voted "aye" with no recorded opposition; Burns abstained from voting on her own nomination by convention, and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members praised Burns' state-level engagement and committee work on behalf of division students. The nomination will be sent to VSBA ahead of the regional delegate assembly and the statewide process in Williamsburg this month.
