Council approves disposal of unused street parcel on 850 West, retains utility easement

The Hurricane City Council on Nov. 3 approved Resolution 2025-38 to dispose of an unused dedicated street parcel adjacent to Parcels H31343228 and HPM SD 4 A along 850 West near 150 South.
Staff told the council the parcel resulted from differing alignments recorded in 1993 and 1995 and that the portion in question is not necessary for future roadway improvements. Staff recommended the disposal but asked that the city retain a standard 10-foot public utility easement along the former right-of-way.
Council members moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote. The resolution as adopted directs that the disposal be subject to the public-utilities easement to ensure city utilities remain protected within the corridor.
The item will be administratively processed consistent with the findings in the resolution; the staff report and resolution are included in the council packet.
