Sandy Springs reports major sidewalk progress along Mount Vernon Highway and Johnson Ferry Road

A City of Sandy Springs staff member said crews have completed stretches of sidewalks and sidepaths on the Mount Vernon Highway corridor and at the Mount Vernon Highway/Johnson Ferry Road intersection, calling the work "a major milestone."
The completed segments include sidewalks running from Boylston Drive to Glenridge Drive along Johnson Ferry Road, and on Mount Vernon Highway from around Hunting Creek up to Glenridge Drive, the staff member said. The projects are part of two large corridor and intersection improvement efforts intended to improve pedestrian connectivity.
"The vision is coming into focus along Mount Vernon Highway," the staff member said, noting that favorable weather helped crews make recent progress. Staff said both projects are anticipated to wrap up by spring of next year.
City staff encouraged residents to follow the City of Sandy Springs on social media for updates on the projects and other city work.
