Sedro‑Woolley — During the public‑comment portion of the Nov. 5 study session, resident Dennis O'Neil told the council he has observed little police presence near local schools and described increased speeding on Walley Street and nearby residential roads. He asked the council to have staff check patrol schedules and consider traffic calming measures such as speed bumps.
"I've gone by the school... I don't see a patrolman out there," O'Neil said, adding that he observed heavy speeding on local streets and expressed concern for elderly pedestrians. He urged the city to show "the flag a little bit more" and to investigate adding a speed bump on Telkot Street.
Mayor Johnson closed the public‑comment period at the end of the meeting; council members did not take immediate action on the request during the study session. The comment was recorded for staff follow‑up.
