Board appoints Mr. Rodriguez as Region 3 representative; oath deferred pending paperwork

The Keystone Central School District board voted by voice on Nov. 6 to appoint Mr. Rodriguez as the district representative for Region 3.
"I move that we accept Mister Rodriguez as the, and appoint Mister Rodriguez as the, representative from... Region 3," said a board member during the special voting session. Another board member seconded the motion and, after a voice vote, the presiding officer announced, "Ayes have it. Mister Rodriguez is now appointed as the region 3 representative effective today, November 6."
Board members and staff noted the one procedural limitation remaining: the required paperwork to administer the oath of office had not been submitted. A board member who raised a point of order said the district could not legally give the oath until the paperwork was completed. Staff instructed the appointee to submit the forms to enable swearing-in.
The motion carried by voice vote; individual member votes were not recorded on the transcript.
The board immediately adjourned the special voting session and continued into its regular work session.
