Steve Boyce of Horsin' Around Rescue told KWCD listeners the rescue's major fall fundraiser, a large tack sale, will be Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Single Star Ranch on East Highway 92 (7484 E. Highway 92). He said merchandise includes saddles, bridles, halters and other used tack, and that people sometimes donate equipment after horses or owners pass away.
Boyce described the sale as one of the rescue 27s main fundraisers and said last spring 27s event included dozens of saddles and many other items. He explained the rescue 27s mission: rescuing horses from seizures or owner surrender, rehabilitating them through groundwork and under-saddle training, and adopting them into appropriate forever homes. Training timelines vary, he said, sometimes taking one to three years depending on a horse 27s needs.
Boyce asked the public to share upcoming sale information and noted the rescue often receives calls to help elderly owners who can no longer care for animals, which the group considers part of its service to the community.
