Eagle Pass MPO seeks project nominations for 20252050 transportation plan

Mayor Aron Valdez urged residents to submit project ideas for the Eagle Pass Metropolitan Planning Organization's 20252050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, saying the MPO "wants your input." The outreach seeks nominations for roads, bridges, public transit, sidewalks and bike lanes across the Eagle Pass urban area.

A staff member from the Eagle Pass MPO described the organization's role and the plan's scope: "The Eagle Pass Metropolitan Planning Organization, EGP MPO, oversees the transportation planning for the entire Eagle Pass urban area, the city of Eagle Pass, Maverick County, and the Kickapoo Tribe of Texas. We focus on planning continuing cooperative and comprehensive transportation systems for the next 25 years." The staff member said the MTP identifies regional priorities and "helps unlock state and federal funding for future improvements."

The MPO issued a public call for project nominations and said submissions should be made through the public project nomination form. Submit your projects."
