The committee agreed to a three‑part approach: 1) a brief orientation panel that identifies the trail segment and accessibility notes (the first 0.4 miles meet accessibility standards), 2) a compact inset map showing the Peninsula Trail with key road and parking references and an arrow to larger Burrows Loop context, and 3) a QR code and a printed website address so users without QR capability still find detailed online maps. The committee asked SVT’s technical contact (Dan Stimpson) for a high‑resolution map image and to provide or authorize a permanent QR code, noting some QR‑generator services can expire.
The committee also debated where to place required land‑management and funding acknowledgements. DCR/MWA permitted‑use language and the Community Preservation Act (CPA) acknowledgement will take significant panel space; members decided to place agency/CPA regulatory panels on a separate adjacent post so the main kiosk remains focused on orientation, etiquette and safety. Members discussed keeping the kiosk text short and using the QR link to deliver longer interpretive or accessibility content.
