Dr. Chris Bender, vice president of coastal engineering at Taylor Engineering, said the study used horizontal shoreline encroachment, vertical infrastructure exposure relative to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers statistical water levels, and historical shoreline change to calculate community vulnerability.
