"Our vision here at David Crockett is to build future leaders," said Mia Miller, student council president at David Crockett High School, describing the council's work to give every student a voice. Vinti Maiga, a student council reporter, told the board Key Club members helped raise 2,721 food items and $1,450.50 in gift cards for a community food drive.
Students also described leadership and career-preparation programs. Callie Gergich said the student-led group FISH meets during lunch to provide faith-based fellowship. Connor Shaw spoke about CTE welding and "Battle of Build" competitions that give students hands-on experience. FCCLA vice president Connie Diaz said her chapter placed in top-10 national competitions and highlighted Culinary Arts projects such as Meals in Jars and Angel Tree participation.
Board members thanked the students for their presentations and noted growing student leadership engagement across the district.
