The Design Review Board approved design review 25-1566 on Nov. 6, 2025, allowing Jerusalem stone cladding on exterior elevations at 2755 Park Avenue. The applicant withdrew the previously contested chimney shrouds and spark arresters after review with city building staff determined the shrouds could not be lowered or reduced in diameter.

Staff told the board that the remaining change — stone cladding on all elevations — met the design-review findings and recommended approval, noting the action was categorically exempt from CEQA. Neighbors said they appreciated staff outreach and the applicant’s decision to withdraw the shroud element; one neighbor requested the applicant paint remaining metal elements to reduce glare.

Board members who spoke said the stone cladding was compatible with neighborhood character and met the design-review criteria. The board adopted the resolution approving design review 25-1566 after a roll-call vote.
